Hope

Janice had a scan this morning and she should have the results this week.

Please continue to be in prayer for complete healing in her body!

"And so, Lord, where do I put my HOPE?
My only HOPE is in you"
Psalm 39:7

"So be strong and courageous,
all you who put your HOPE in the LORD!"
Psalm 31:24

" But the LORD watches over those who fear him,
those who rely on his unfailing love.

He rescues them from death
and keeps them alive in times of famine.

We put our HOPE in the LORD.
He is our help and our shield.

In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD,
for our HOPE is in you alone."
Psalm 33:18-22

Just keep praying ...

Dear friends, please keep Janice in your prayers throughout the day.

She is continuing with her weekly chemotherapy to kill those nasty cancer cells and is babysitting many precious children every day and just needs His strength and His endurance and His grace and His power to keep on keepin' on.

Praise God for His strength when we are weak!

"But he said to me,
"My grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect in weakness."
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses,
so that Christ's power may rest on me.
That is why, for Christ's sake,
I delight in weaknesses,
in insults,
in hardships,
in persecutions,
in difficulties.
For when I am weak, then I am strong."

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

So, please, continue to intercede on Janice's behalf.

Do You Trust Him?

Janice's bloodwork was good yesterday morning and she was able to have chemotherapy yesterday afternoon.  She felt great during the chemo and afterwards had dinner at Alan and Lauren's house.

We are praising God for how good she has been feeling and praying that it continues!

The sky is dark.  Sudden waves of water tilt up our sailing vessel until we see nothing but sky and then downward until we see nothing but blue.  I learned this about sailing:  there is nothing swell about a swell!

Eyes turned first to the thunderclouds, then to the captain.  We looked to him. He was deliberate and decisive.  He told some of us where to sit, others what to do, and all of us to hang on.  And we did what he said.

Why?  We knew he knew best.

Such winds test our trust in the Captain.  Does God know what he’s doing?

Why did he allow the storm?

The conditions worsen, and his instructions perplex.  How do you respond?

Can you say about God what I said about our captain?

I know God knows what’s best.   I know I don’t.  I know he cares.

Do you trust him?

“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:10″

Chemo Day.

It's Thursday ... which means it's Chemo Day!

Janice has bloodwork and an appointment with her Oncologist this morning and if her blood work is good she will have Chemotherapy this afternoon.

Friends, please take a minute to say a prayer for complete healing in Janice's body.  Please pray that her body is responding to the chemotherapy and that her blood work will be good enough today so that she can continue with the chemotherapy treatment.  Pray that He fills her mind with peace, her heart with joy and that His will be done through this.

"Dear brothers and sisters,
when troubles come your way,
consider it an opportunity for great joy.
For you know that when your faith is tested,
your endurance has a chance to grow.
So let it grow,
for when your endurance is fully developed,
you will be perfect and complete,
needing nothing."

Biopsy Update

Janice's breast biopsy came back benign.  Praising God!  And praying continually for complete healing.

I will exalt you, my God and King,
and praise your name forever and ever.
I will praise you every day;
yes, I will praise you forever.
Great is the LORD!
He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness.
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts;
let them proclaim your power.
I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor
and your wonderful miracles.
Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue;
I will proclaim your greatness.
Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness;
they will sing with joy about your righteousness.
The LORD is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
The LORD is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all his creation.
All of your works will thank you, LORD,
and your faithful followers will praise you."

Psalm 145:1-10

Relay for Life

Friday night was the Relay for Life Cancer Walk in Littlefield.  It had to be moved indoors because of the storms but the atmosphere was brightened by this ...

Yes, that is Micheal [in the pink wig with the unibrow] dressed like a hooker lady.  He surprised Janice [and everyone else] by participating in the cross-dressing contest as Una "Piece-a-this" Brow

Janice has had a good weekend and feels well this morning.

Please be in prayer for her today as she receives her pathology report from her breast biopsy she had last Thursday.

 "Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth!
Worship the LORD with gladness.
Come before him, singing with JOY.
Acknowledge that the LORD is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people,
the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation."

Procedure Update

Janice's day at High Plains Surgery Center went well.  Her side was hurting some because she couldn't take any pain medication before her procedures this morning.  Her bloodwork went well.  Her port was implanted.  She had a little lunch and then her breast biopsy was performed.

The  biopsy was sent to pathology and we should find out the results of that on Monday.  Janice said the most painful part wasn't the biopsy but lying on her stomach for an hour and a half.  Apparently she had a smile through it all though!

Please join us in prayer as we wait for the results of the biopsy.  Pray that our Heavenly Father would fill Janice with peace as she waits.

"Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge,
a rock where no enemy can reach me.
O my people, trust Him at all times.
Pour out your heart to Him,
for God is our refuge."

Psalm 62:5-8

Update

Janice had pain in her side most of Wednesday.  Please pray for her pain to subside and that the pain medication will continue to allow her be free from any pain.

Also, please remember to pray for her this (Thursday) morning.  She will have a blood test done at 7:30 am, her port placed at 8:15 am and a breast biopsy at 2:30 pm at High Plains Surgery Center in Lubbock.  We will update as soon as we hear any news.

Please pray for rest for Janice and her family tonight, for the doctors performing the procedures in just a few hours, for a quick recovery, for our loving Father to fill her with peace and comfort, that He will take away any anxiousness that she may feel and ultimately for healing.  Thank you, friends, for your amazing support and relentless prayers for Janice and her family.  She says that she can feel each and every one of them.

"Always be joyful.
Never stop praying.
Be thankful in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you
who belong to Christ Jesus."

Port & 2nd Opinion

Please be in prayer for Janice this Thursday, June 14th, as she has her port implanted for Chemotherapy treatments, bloodwork taken and a breast biopsy done at High Plains Surgery Center.  Pray that the procedure is painless, for quick healing, that the bloodwork and biopsy come back clear and for the doctors performing the procedures.

She will not have chemotherapy this week.

Also, Janice has been in communication with MD Anderson about getting a second opinion on her initial diagnosis.  The details with her insurance are still being worked out but she hopes to get into MD Anderson at the end of July after her first round of chemotherapy and CAT Scan in Lubbock.

Dear friends, please pray fervently with us that all the details are worked out and that Janice is able to receive a second opinion at MD Anderson.  We are filled with hope because the Lord that breathed the stars into the night sky is the same One that holds us each in His hands and He is fully capable of lining out any insurance details.

"For the word of the LORD holds true,
and we can trust everything he does.
He loves whatever is just and good;
the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth.
The LORD merely spoke,
and the heavens were created.
He breathed the word,
and all the stars were born.
He assigned the sea its boundaries
and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.
Let the whole world fear the LORD,
and let everyone stand in awe of him.
For when he spoke, the world began!
It appeared at his command."

A Good Weekend

Janice ran a little fever on Saturday night but woke up this morning feeling well!  Thankfully her pain has been controlled much better this time after chemotherapy.  We are SO thankful for this!  And like always she is such good spirits.

She spent this Sunday morning in church listening to an Indian missionary give his testimony of worldly persecution and God's amazing love and ultimate faithfulness.

His love for us despite our individual circumstances is so amazing, right?

Please just continue to pray for Janice as she enters your thoughts throughout the day.  We know and truly believe that God hears each and every one of them.

"Always be full of joy in the Lord.
I say it again - rejoice!
Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do.
Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
Don't worry about anything;
instead pray about everything.
Tell God what you need,
and thank Him for all He has done.
Then you will experience God's peace,
which exceeds anything we can understand.
His peace will guard your hearts and minds
as you live in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4: 4-7

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the Rock
and firm Strength of my heart
and my Portion forever.

Psalm 73:26

Cancer Cells and Stomach Bugs

Janice had a nauseous afternoon yesterday but awoke feeling great this morning!

Praise God!

In addition to the chemotherapy, she started a new cancer pill yesterday to kill those cancer cells so please pray it does!!!

Also, a few of her daycare kids have come down with the stomach bug so pray that she does not come down with that nasty thing.

"Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this:
The faithful love of the LORD never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
His mercies begin afresh each morning.
I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!”

The LORD is good to those who depend on him,
to those who search for him."

Lamentations 3:21-25

Chemotherapy

Janice had her first round of Chemotherapy last Thursday and her second round will be this Thursday.  She started feeling very sick on Friday night and was miserable all weekend.

Thankfully she woke up feeling great today!!!

Please pray for her to have good days with controllable pain and rest before her second round of Chemo.  And please pray that her future rounds don't make her as sick as her first round has.

An open facebook group, Prayers for Janice, has been created.  Feel free to join it and post encouraging words to Janice as she faces these days.

"And may that wind the brokenhearted daughter faces,
may it fly her hair like a glory flag,
And may the hills that rise before her be but an exhilaration,
And may all her trials be but a trail,
all the stones on the way be but grace stairs to God."
